Ventana is developing a comprehensive next generation decision support system to analyze national innovation and competitiveness as enabled by the effectiveness of basic science research. The Energy Environment Economy (E3) model has been successfully prototyped and will be expanded to include a Science and Education model to provide the framework for quantifying the impact of science policy and investment portfolio on the health of the US researcher community, US energy supply, the environment, and the economy.

US National Energy Technology Laboratory

Ventana completed the development of a National Strategic Electric Power Sector model. This model enables the evaluation of sector policies and portfolios of technologies to develop multi-pollutant reduction, production cost, and availability strategies for electric power. NETL will use this model with Ventana to assist policy development and technology selection strategies for countries such as India and China. For this work Ventana earned the highest Five Star supplier rating from NETL in all evaluation categories.
