Langley National Research Center Ventana is developing a Research Center Strategy Model to guide planning and assist the match of an uncertain future work portfolio to personnel and facility capability. The resulting tools may enable live interactive management of and Research Centers and assist in the management of large programs at those Research Centers. Major Biotech Company Ventana has been tasked to find the root causes of decline in pharmaceutical productivity as measured by the number of new molecular entities passing FDA approval. Development costs are large, and firms have uncertain futures. Current focus is to gain visibility and definition of optimal spending and intervention in the post-clinical pipeline. US Department of Energy Ventana developed for the Office of Science a model to enable the analysis of the impact of portfolio decisions on the research community demographics. |
